Schedule Update

From: Dave Rainville
While going through the ASHL schedule checking allocated games versus scheduled games, it was noted the 22nd of December game day only had 6 games listed. Upon further investigation we found 11 of 17 games had not transferred from the scheduler to Pointstreak at the time we issued the revised schedule of October 31st, the time of the first ASHL divisional re-alignment.

The schedule was revised and uploaded on the weekend. Please advise your teams of the additional game to your first half schedule.

Thank you for your attention to this most crucial and critical of league matters,
Dave Rainville

2 Goalies Fighting to Play for CuppaJoe Grinders

2 goalie fightThe game within the game this season will be a battle between the pipes between two goalies. Joining the team this year is Timothy van Poortvliet in between the pipes alongside Peter Hogan. They will be sharing the season this year and have a personal competition going on to see who comes out with the better record. Peter Hogan with his stand-up style and Timothy van Portvliet with his butterfly style. Quick, somebody get this guy a nickname because I can’t see myself patting him on the pads and saying “Good Save Timothy van Poortvliet ” every 30 seconds. Oh! and Timothy van Poortvliet, thats pretty much the way it is, every 30 seconds you will be tested. Hopefully Peter warned you about us.

‘08-’09 Season Fast Approaching

The schedule is up. September 5th is the first game, Friday 8:15pm against the Smokeeaters. Some roster changes will affect this upcoming season. Dave Tanchak has opted to play with The Burn this season, but has respectfully asked to remain on the Grinders spare list. Of course we will place him right at the the top of the list and will have him out as much as possible.

Geiber is looking to split a season with someone as work scheduling may cause numerous conflicts. Anyone up for a split?

Jason’s heart may not be in it. Bad pun intended. But he’s anticipating a full season.
Guy’s bringing out a new guy and we’ve asked PSP if he wants in full time.

Get your money to Bob, RSVP to Bob, and see you on the 5th!

Maybe we should organize a pre-season skate? Any takers?

Oooh Oooh Almost forgot. Go to ASHL.ca and pre-register for the season.

Peter “The Hulk” Hogan Signs on Full Time

Is This Peter Hogan? After extensive negotiations and posturing by respective barristers and agents, The CuppJoe Grinders are pleased to announce the signing of now full-time starter for 07/08 season: Peter Hogan. As per the terms of the club, full contract negotiations and terms are printed below:

Peter,
Absolutely if you are ready willing and able to play this Friday then you are the man. 7:30pm at 8 Rinks. In fact if you are looking for a full time team – we’d love to have you as our starter.
Glen

Glen
Yes and Yes, I will play this Friday and I’ll accept as your full time starter.
See You Friday
Peter

So starting this Friday at 7:30pm all welcome Peter Hogan. He’s played for us before in the regular season a couple of years ago and has come out for pick-up a few times as well. He’s your typical goalie with a few quirks and oddities that we’ll all have to accept, but hey, we had Kuznak and Hilde for years, we can handle anything by now.
