The Cuppa Joe Grinders

Geiber, Triggsy, PSP and Angry Chacko pot a goal in game one to lead the CuppaJoe Grinders to a 4-3 victory. It may not have pretty, many “first game of the season mistakes”, but we did manage to hold the Smokeeaters to 27 shots; well below the usual 40 shot average. Tim the Target played a solid game pushing aside 24 shots and handling the puck for break-out passes like a 3rd d-man.

Holding ourselves to 2 penalties and being short-handed only once helped us Grinders keep our wind and keep control of the puck. A similar game tonight will go a long way to helping us go 2 for 2 at the start of the season. 8:45pm against The Shockers. The Shockers won their first game of the season as well, with the same 4-3 score over the Toques. The Shockers placed above us in the standings (ok, so who didn’t) with only 4 more points. They took the season series 2-1, blowing us away in the final game. Its retribution time baby.
